Introduction

This course provides an introduction to instructional technology research and how technology can be used as an important resource in teaching and learning. In this course, students will explore and analyze current technology integration practices in learning and teaching, grounded in learning theories. Students will also engage in digital writing and reading experiences and use tools for communication and collaboration. These tools include but are not limited to: concept mapping tools, and multimedia design. After this course, students will be expected to:

  1. Recognize the relationship between learning theories, strategies and technology
  2. Examine successful technology integration practices in learning and teaching
  3. Evaluate tools that support learning and teaching
  4. Design technology integration practices in learning and teaching
  5. Identify and evaluate online tools for professional development in language teaching and learning
